Binary Cycle Power Plant
The strong potential of geothermal resources in Indonesia gives a great opportunity for geothermal energy to be used as an energy alternative to save and prolong the declining fossil fuels. In a binary cycle power plant, the heat from geothermal water is used to vaporize a “working fluid” in separate adjacent pipes. The vapor, like steam, powers the turbine generator. Natural steam from the production wells power the turbine generator. The steam is condensed by evaporation in the cooling tower and pumped down an injection well to sustain production. In the heat exchanger, heat is transferred from the geothermal water to a second liquid. The geothermal water is never exposed to the air and is injected back into the periphery of the reservoir.

Facades are designed to be thermal efficient. Shades are used to block solar heat during warm conditions. The sun shades can also be opened to allow light to enter the building during winter, and at times of indirect sunlight. The fixed horizontal louver concept and Operable horizontal louver concept can be used in South-West facades, North facades are more closed.
Photovoltaic cells integrated in roof between buildings can provide energy for the center and surrounding buildings. The use of green roofs on buildings can reduce energy costs and provide a good atmosphere for roof terraces.
Wall- floorpanels, and roof cassettes can be prefabricated. Advantages are reduced construction time due to stable labor force, no weather delays and increased productivity from standardization.
Environmental advantages include reduced carbon emissions, reductions in waste generation, increased recycling, improved worker health and safety and improved site conditions. Increased quality assurance due to stable indoor work environment, standardization with tighter tolerances and increased prototyping and checking.
Landscape plants are primarily native to the region and are chosen not only for their ornamental qualities, but also for wildlife benefit. The surrounding landscape is designed to exemplify a connection between humanity and nature. Certain areas for gardens, gathering spaces, overlooks and places to sit are interspersed with the fabric of natural environment. From the surrounding buildings or while in the landscape itself, nature in the form of local plants, migrating birds and small animals should be evident.
Green roofs and green terraces that absorb the storm water. Bio-filters which collect, convey and infiltrate the storm water. Stormwater is also understood as habitat for wildlife and its natural interaction with soil, plants and air is encouraged.
Outdoor lighting is providing light enough for nighttime activities, but unnecessary light pollution has to be avoided. Patterns of pathway lights, and light poles are integrated into the composition of the nighttime experience.
Landscape of Interaction
This landscape should promote creative interaction between the various people that work and visit the Coral Triangle Center. Opportunities for spontaneous exchange of ideas and social interaction are promoted by a diversity of easily accessible spaces such as small sitting areas, large walking paths and open play areas, with taking into account the private areas of the offices.
